Hi everyone! I wore this floral maxi dress to a wedding this past weekend in Philadelphia and it was the perfect piece for the occasion. The empire waist enabled me to eat comfortably while hiding my food baby and despite the long length, the chiffon material was cooling. Although the back was a deeper cut, I was still able to wear a regular bra (no need for stickies!) without the straps showing. Most importantly, the flowy design made it very breathable. I was originally debating between this or a more fitted dress, but in the humidity I did not want to wear anything that would stick to my skin.  As always, comfort triumphs. :)

I ordered a couple of dresses on Asos before borrowing this from a friend at the last minute. This one shoulder piece looked promising on the model. I knew I would be eating a lot so I specifically looked for ones that flared out, and given that it's a summer wedding, I wanted to go for a floral theme. I ordered a 4 and although it fit me, the length was too long and was not flattering on my frame (for reference I am 5'4). Even with my 4 inch heels, it made me look frumpy. I can imagine this would look beautiful on someone taller, but for those on the more petite side, alternations will be needed. I didn't want to deal with all the hassle, so will be returning this. The other dress I ordered was this Chi Chi London one.   I have broad shoulders and from the style, I knew would have to size up so I ordered a 6. However, it was still too small so this will also be going back. I was also disappointed in the quality. It looked nice in the picture but in real life it looked a bit cheap. I did like that there was a tulle layer underneath to give it more volume, so if you are on the more petite side, this might emphasize your curves nicely.

On another note, today marks one month since I started the blog. I'm definitely still building the foundation and am working on finding my voice and style. There is still a lot of room for improvement and I'm constantly trying to find new content. Having said that, I wanted to do a small giveaway to thank you so much for your support for the past month.

I've been doing quite a bit of traveling and have a couple more trips coming up this year. The Urban Decay Naked on the Run palette have made it so easy for me to pack my make up bag. I just need to bring this, a make up brush, foundation and my Anastasia brow wiz (I use the color medium brown) and I'm set to go! Regardless of whether I'm wearing make up or not that day, I always have sunscreen on. The sun will make you age much more quickly, so this is a staple in my routine. I love the Shiseido Oil Free Sunscreen (SPF 42) because it's high in SPF and doesn't leave the sticky sunscreen feeling on your skin. This is especially crucial if you're going to a sunny place!

One lucky winner will win both of these items. Rules to enter are simple:
1) Follow me on Instagram (@serendiepityblog
2) Like this Instagram post
3) Tag a Friend who you think would be interested :)

The winner will be selected at random. The giveaway will be open from June 2- to June 9 11:59 PT and the winner will be announced on the blog on June 11. Open to US residents only. This giveaway is not affiliated with Instagram or any other sponsors, it's just simply my way of saying thank you for supporting me! As always, thank you for reading and good luck everyone!
