It's finally cool enough to wear something more than a tank top in the Bay Area! With temperatures being in the 70s, one of my favorite way to add some warmth while still looking polished is by throwing on a blazer. During the summer, I would sport the plaid shirt with jeans by itself. In Autumn, a blazer is perfect for the cooler mornings and nights, but can still easily be taken off during the day when it's hotter. Unless I am going in for an interview, I always roll up the sleeves on my blazer for a more casual vibe. I love how the pattern on the cuffs ties the whole look together. Plaid is one of my favorite print to wear during Fall, and this particular top has blue stripes that tie perfectly together with the blue blazer, jeans and purse. The blazer immediately makes the outfit look more put together. When I have a lot of meetings at work, this is one of my go to outfit - I'm still relaxed and approachable without being too casual. For me, this is the perfect outfit to start off the week! Hope everyone had a great weekend!

All Wrapped Up

Scarf: Aritzia
Top: Aritzia
Jeans: Zara
Boots: Coach (similar here)
Clutch: JCrew (here in gold)

Scarves are one of my favorite accessories to wear year-round, even during the summer months because my office is always a crisp 68-70 degrees. I love scarves of all types and sizes, but for me... the bigger the better. I picked up this blanket scarf from Aritzia earlier this year and it's one of my favorite pieces because it's so versatile. I like to wear it during the Winter months because it adds so much warmth, or even during Fall as just a throw/wrap for the evening when it gets chilly. It's also my go-to piece for traveling because I am always cold on the airplane and this is pretty much my travel blankie. Aritzia has some of the best blanket scarves out there. I highly recommend checking them out if you like big, over-sized scarves like I do.

On another note, I stopped by the mall this past weekend to check out Madewell since they were having an additional 40% off sale items. I picked up this flannel shirtdress (original 98, on sale in stores for 69.99, but online price is 94.50) and this printed tank top (originally 79.50, on sale for 59.55). I was also able an additional 15% off for showing my student ID. I was able to snatch the dress for 35.69 and the shirt for 30.59 + tax, more than 50% off the original price. For your reference, I got an XS in both (their sizes tend to run bigger). I've mentioned this before but if you guys love shopping at Madewell and you know anyone with a student ID card or a faculty card, ask (or drag...) them to go shopping with you! All of the discounts definitely add up. I hardly ever buy anything from Madewell at the original price since I know they always go on sale.

Hopefully these tips can help some of you save $$$. If you've recently picked up anything from Madewell or know of any other good sales going on, please share! As always, thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

Wrap Top & Boyfriend Jeans

Blouse: H&M (long sleeve version here or similar here)
Jacket: Gap (similar here)
Jeans: Gap (40% with code LOVE)
Shoes: Sam Edelman (similar here)
Clutch: J Crew (here in gold)

I have a bittersweet relationship with this white wrap top from H&M. I love the style and clean look, but the shirt has no stretch to it at all. When I bought this shirt last year, it was a perfect fit. Then, the holidays came around and for a whole year, this top hung in the back of my closet until recently when some of the holiday weight finally came off. The only problem is, the holidays are right around the corner again, so I might have to wait another year before wearing this top again... hahaha. At least I have some nice pictures to remember it by. All kidding aside, if you are interested in this top, I suggest sizing up 2 sizes (maybe even 3 if you like a more relaxed fit). Also, keep in mind that the armholes are smaller, which could be a good thing for petite ladies, but for girls with bigger arms like myself, it can be somewhat uncomfortable. However, I do love the look paired with these Gap boyfriend jeans so a little discomfort is worth it. Gap is having 40% off the the entire purchase with code LOVE if any of you are interested in these jeans. I've had this pair for about 2 years now and the material is still holding up well and I like the cut, so it's definitely a good option if looking for boyfriend jeans. Have a great Columbus Day!

Mustard Sweater & Dolphin Shorts

Sweater: H&M (similar here)
Shorts: Urban Outfitters (similar here)
Shoes: Toms

The weather is finally cool enough for me to take out my sweaters from storage, but shorts are still an option. I lived in these shorts all summer, especially during my trip to Mexico and Hawaii. I have bigger thighs so I tend to steer away from tight short shorts - it's not a look I can pull off. These dolphin shorts, however, are great for my frame. The longer length in the back offers more coverage so I'm not showing any unnecessary parts while the high cut on the two sides visually lengthen my legs. I used to not wear shorts very often, but I've learned it's all about finding the right style for my body. The weather in the bay is still in the low 80s, so I have a few more weeks before I have to store these away. I'm prolonging my summer pieces as long as I can by mixing them with sweaters and scarves. Hope you all had a great weekend, and have a great week ahead!
