Clutch: Steve Madden (similar here)

I was at Zara this past week to return some items and spotted this top while waiting in line. I was in a time crunch so was debating on whether or not it was worth it to get out of line, but when I saw the side panel on this shirt (picture 1), I knew I had to get it. I already loved the clean cut of the shirt and the elephant print, so the side detail was a cherry on top. From past experience, I knew Zara's blouses tend to run smaller in the sleeves, so I was glad I tried it on before purchasing. The small was a good fit in terms of length and width, but when I raised my arms, it was tight around the shoulders. I ended up going with the medium since it was a better fit around my arms. I'm so glad I got out of line to get the shirt... for $40 the quality of the is very good and the details on the blouse elevated the look! I hope your Monday is off to a great start and as always, thanks for stopping by!

Blushing in Pink

Cami: Aritzia
Blazer: Urban Outfitters (similar here)
Jeans: Madewell
Purse: Longchamp
Shoes: Nine West
Watch: Burberry

If you've followed my blog for a while now, you know on days when I'm feeling a bit more tired, I like to dress a little more professional to get ready for the day ahead of me. I wore this outfit last week to work the day after I got back from Vegas. There's something about putting on a blazer that automatically makes me feel more poised and put together, despite the huge bags under my eyes (concealer is my best friend!). I got this blazer a couple of years ago during the Thanksgiving sale from Urban Outfitters and it was probably one of the best steals I've ever found. I got it for less than $20 and have gotten so many wears out of it. I love that the blush pink color tones it down. That way, I still look professional but approachable. You will hardly ever find me in a blazer and slacks, so of course I stuck with my good old trusty Madewell jeans. I didn't want to take attention away from blazer, so just wore a black camisole underneath. I love the lace trimming on this camisole because it adds just the right element of sexy without looking completely like lingerie. The next time you're feeling tired or dreading the day, try dressing up! It's amazing how an outfit can change the way you feel. If you look good, you feel good!

Paris in Vegas

Shoes: Dolce Vita (similar here)
Sunglasses: Ray Ban

These pictures were taken last weekend when I was in Vegas for a girls' trip in front of Caesar's palace. There were so many beautiful backgrounds as we walked along the Vegas strip, so of course I had to snap some pictures (another benefit of traveling with your photographer best friend)! This fake Eiffel Tower will just have to do for now until I can finally travel to France to see the real deal. I have to say, it still gives off quite a romantic feel. :P

Our stay there was short - we arrived Saturday morning and left at 7:00AM on Monday - but we made sure to make the best of our time there. We attended pool parties, went out to some night clubs, walked the strip and most importantly, ate to our hearts' content. I wore this outfit to go to the Bacchanal buffet in Caesar's Palace. It was 110 degrees outside, so keeping cool was essential. This denim top from Zara was perfect to combat the heat because it was not fitted and therefore did not stick to my skin. The peplum cut was also great for my ever growing stomach as I stuffed down endless plates of food. The top is no longer available online, but you might be able to find it in the sale section in your local Zara store (I picked mine up last month). If you ever visit Vegas and want to do a buffet, I would say this is one of the best ones I've tried to date (I've definitely had my share of Vegas buffets :P).

The girls and I usually make it out to Vegas once a year. It is the only time we leave hibernation and leave the grandmas in us at home. I'd say we had enough fun until next year! I hope you all had a great weekend, and of course, thanks for reading!

Neutral Brights

|| Outfit Details ||

Top: Anthropologie  (on sale & additional 20% off!)
Pants: Uniqlo
Shoes: Ann Taylor (on sale & additional 40% off!)
Clutch: Nordstrom (similar here)

Hi everyone! I wanted to share with you this top I got from Anthropologie that's currently on sale with an additional 20% off (total comes out to be about $35). I love that the cobalt blue is a bright and fun color, but is still very neutral and can be worn with any bottom without clashing. As I mentioned in my previous post, I'm trying to incorporate more color into my wardrobe. Without realizing it, I have been gravitating towards the cobalt blue color quite a bit as can be seen in my Instagram photos. I love how separately, the blue and white are neutral pieces but together it makes the perfect summer outfit. I have a longer torso so I tend to stay away from peplum tops as it can be unflattering on me if I'm not careful. Most peplum tops end up being too short on me and/or flares out too much. This top flares out just a little to give shape and texture but still flows down nicely. I highly suggest checking it out online or at your local store.

On another note, I just got back from a Vegas trip with my best girlfriends. I'm excited to share with you some of the pictures that were captured! Stay tuned!

Yellow Floral Skirt

Cami: Topshop
Skirt: Ann Taylor (on sale & extra 60% off!)
Jacket: Nordstrom
Shoes: Tory Burch Chelsea Pump (newer styles here)
Clutch: Nordstrom (similar here)

My wardrobe consists mostly of neutral staples, but with the warm weather, I've been drawn to brighter colors and have been trying to incorporate more into my outfits. This yellow floral skirt is perfect because it adds a pop of color without being too much. I could wear this with a black top to tone down the brightness, or in this case, with a cobalt blue to enhance it. This skirt is currently on sale and an extra 60% off can be applied with code "SAVE60" at Ann Taylor. I actually picked this skirt up directly at the store, and saw there was also a dress version (here) that would be perfect for a summer wedding. I ended up going with the skirt because I knew I would get more wear out of it. If you're interested, I would definitely recommend picking one up. For reference, I am wearing a 2 in this picture. I originally tried on a 4, and while that fit, it was a little baggy looking. The 2 is a perfect fit standing up, but can be a bit uncomfortable if sitting for long periods of time. I was debating between the two sizes, and in the end I chose looks over practicality. :P I'll be heading to Vegas with some of my girl friends this weekend, so follow me on Instagram for more updates. As always, have a great weekend and thanks so much for reading!

T-shirt Dress and Long Cardigan

Dress: Forever 21 (similar here)
Sweater: Zara (similar here or here)
Shoes: Aldo (here in nude)

You all know I love my t-shirt dresses. This one in particular shrunk just a little too much in the dryer, becoming a bit shorter than what I usually like. However, it's such a comfortable piece that I'm not ready to say good bye yet, so I wore it with this long cardigan to balance out the shortness. I also get cold easily, so a cardigan is always a must. This outfit would be a good transition piece into Fall or just for those chilly summer nights. I also picked up these peeptoe booties from Aldo during their additional 30% off sale, so scored these for just about $30. The additional discount is no longer going on, but these shoes are on sale from $90 to $44.99, which is still a great deal! I like that it's not fully covered so my feet can breathe, especially during the summer. Can you tell I've been doing too much shopping with all these sales? I'm such a sucker for them! Please share if you've picked up any sales pieces recently. As always, thanks for reading! <3

Colorblock Black & White Tank

Top: Nordstrom
Shoes: Aldo
Clutch: Danielle Nicole from Nordstrom (similar here)

Just a quick post to share with you my recent purchase from Nordstrom during their anniversary sale. The colorblock detail from this shirt was what originally caught my attention. The shirt also came in a blue and black color, but I'm a sucker for anything black and white. Although the small was a good fit, I ended up going with the medium because I liked it looser for a more casual fit. I paired this with my favorite Banana Republic Sloan pants for a pop of color and nude shoes to balance out the look. I need to go shopping this weekend for my upcoming Vegas trip, so I'll be sure to share any good finds! Have a great weekend!

Navy, the New Black

Top: Gap (similar here)
Pants: Gap (similar here)
Shoes: Steve Madden

Starting off the week strong with a more put together outfit. I picked up these navy pants from Gap last year and love how the straight cut lengthens my legs when I wear them with these Steve Madden pumps. They're also wrinkle free, which is always a win in my book. When shopping for work pants, I like buying them in navy because it looks more casual, but still very put together. I still love my black pants, but I sometimes look too uptight, or too business like. For a more everyday look, navy is my go to color! Do you have a favorite color for your pants? Please share in the comments!
