Happy Monday all! I'm having the Monday blues at work thinking about how much I would rather be in our warm cabin in Tahoe, but the sun is finally out today which helps to brighten up my mood!

I've been obsessed with my Nike Flyknit Racers ever since I got them at the beginning on the year. I originally got them because I needed new gym shoes but these have become my go to shoes overall, gym or no gym (even in the snow!). In fact, I plan on packing these with me when I head to Vietnam next week! The grey and black color matches with everything and they are so comfortable with just the right amount of support. I usually have two separate pair of shoes - one for the gym when i'm doing light cardio and weights, and one for running longer distance. My ankles roll in when I run so I generally need shoes with a lot more support, but these Nike Flyknits haven't given me any issues. I haven't run a marathon in them yet so I can't say if they will be good for longer runs, but I can easily run 4-5 miles in these shoes with no problem! If you're in the market for new sneakers, I highly recommend checking out these Nikes. They come in unisex sizes only. For your reference, I'm usually a 6.5 in women's. I got these shoes in a 5.5 and they fit perfectly (enough to wear thick running socks with).

Have a great week and as always, thanks for stopping by!

Dress: Aritzia

Hi everyone! Hope you had a great weekend. Just wanted to share a quick review of this Aritzia dress because it's currently on sale. I love wearing dresses because you don't have to think about what top or bottom to match it with. This dress in particular is one of those good staples to have. I usually wear a small, but grabbed this in a medium since it's a more fitted dress. The material is a stretch jersey that skims the body. While the small works, I like to have some room for my food baby. It's a great piece to wear for any occasion! As always, thanks for stopping by!

Happy New Year!

Sweater: Madewell (on sale for less than $35)
Jacket: Topshop
Pants: Madewell  (on sale & extra 40% off!)
Shoes: Zara (on sale)

Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a great holiday season. I was fortunate enough to get two weeks off work, but spent the majority of the time sick with the common cold. I rang in the new year in my PJs and couldn't be happier. Since I wasn't feeling well, I ended up doing a lot of online shopping because well... retail therapy is the best cure!

Practically all of the retail stores are still having major sales. The turtleneck I'm wearing in these pictures are on sale for less than $35. It's super warm and comfy and I love the slits on the side (perfect for tucking in). Additionally, these Madewell pants are on sale for 40% off. I have to say they are probably the comfiest pair of black pants I own and is a staple in my closet. Madewell has them in a wide range of colors so I highly recommend picking up a pair. Finally, these lace up flats from Zara are also on sale! For $40, I think it's a steal compared to what other retailers are selling them for. I ordered these and the Ivanka Trump ($140) lace up flats in black. The Ivanka Trump flats were actually a little too small for me (I ordered in my usual 6.5) so I ended up returning those. I didn't bother exchanging for another size because I actually liked the Zara flats better because there was no zipper in the back and I loved the nude color. I picked up the Zara flats during the Black Friday sale for $30, but I think it's still worth it for $40!

On another note, I can't believe that it is already 2016. It seems the year just flew by. I'm usually not one for New Year's resolutions, but I've actually started doing most of the items on my list toward the second half of last year so they're not completely new. Rather, I want to continue/take it up a notch. Below is my list of things to do for 2016.

1. Travel more - I believe in working hard but equally important is giving myself a break. There's no better way to relax than to travel, explore a new city or country and take in its culture. In fact, I already have my tickets booked for Vietnam in February, so I think this "to do" is an easy one for sure!
 2. Save more money - I know it seems like I'm contradicting myself by saying this. After all, how can I travel more and expect to save money? What I mean by this is to save money by going out/eating out less, and dare I say it... even shopping less. I used to go out to eat 1-2x a week, but most of last year have been eating out 3-5x a week. I'm not so sure how well I'll do in the "shopping less" department, but one can't blame a girl for trying.
3. Be Healthy - I traveled a lot last year so it was definitely a challenge to maintain my fitness and eat healthy. As a result, I actually gained 15 pounds. I hated how sluggish  I felt and the way my clothes fit. I'm finally back on track and have shed most of the weight gain by exercising consistently (I did hot yoga/pilates and followed a bunch of Beachbody workout programs such as 21 Day Fix, 21 Day Fix Extreme, Insanity, etc... ). However, I would like to focus more on my eating because I definitely feel a difference in my body when I feed it a bunch of crap compared to more greens and grains. For sure this will probably be the hardest thing on my list!
4. Read more - I always say I don't read much because I don't have the time, but that's really just an excuse. Originally, I was optimistic and wanted to try reading one book a month, but if I'm being real to myself, one book every two months is more like it, and it's still better than my current number, which is zero!
5. Drink less coffee - At some point last year, I went from one cup of coffee a day to drinking 2 or 3 cups a day. I want to get back to my maximum quota of one a day.

And there you have it! My five resolutions for the New Year. If you have some resolutions, I would love to hear! Please share in the comments section. :)
